Home Sick and Homesick

March 3, 2009 at 3:33 PM 2 comments

The past 2 days I have been unable to fall asleep – last night I even took an over the counter sleeping pill, and it didn’t help. After John left for work at 6 AM, I fell asleep but woke up again around 7:50 when John came back home. He had been sent home to rest for the day, because he’s sick. We spent a couple more hours sleeping, and I have been enjoying making soup and helping him feel better.

Not only is John home sick, but we’re both kind of homesick. I wish we could go back to Texas for Fiesta, but at the soonest, we’re looking at a trip back in July. Regardless of when we go, I need to get some sun. I am so pale and we do not get nearly enough sun here!

However, the weather has been much warmer here this week (with some more frequent appearances by Mr. Sun). We have had highs around 50! Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll dip back into the 30s and low 40s while my parents are here next week. I hope the forecast changes and it stays a little warmer with some sun. It’s no fun when it’s rainy here.

I hope you’re feeling better soon! If it helps at all the bad season here is almost over and there should be lots more sun in the next few months! Take care!

Thanks. Spring is the one season I haven’t experienced yet in Germany, and I’m looking forward to it! I took a walk today around our neighborhood, but the sun disappeared halfway through it, and it got pretty chilly (though it’s still much better than 20-30 degree weather).
