My Favorite Movies

December 4, 2008 at 4:41 PM 9 comments

My friend Brian did this, and I thought it was fun, so I hope y’all enjoy this:

1. Pick 20 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDB and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them on your blog for everyone to guess. (So please, guess away! But not cheating (aka Googling the answer).)

At the end, I’ll tag and update with all the movie titles.

1. What we do in life echoes in eternity.

2. Ohmigod, you’re totally freaking out. You’re, like, bolting for the door.

3. As you can see, the pseudo-faΓ§ade was stripped away to reveal a minimalist rococo design. Note the unusual inverse vaulted ceilings. This is yet another example of the late neoclassic Baroque period. And, as I always say, “if it’s not Baroque, don’t fix it!”

4. We’re all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that’s all.

5. Sweet Lincoln’s mullet.

6. First, I must tell you I’ve been the most unmitigated and comprehensive ass.

7. “People”? I ain’t “people.” I am a – “a shimmering, glowing star in the cinema firmament.”

8. It’s so stimulating being your hat.

9. There’s a 30% chance that it’s already raining!

10. I can’t believe what a bunch of nerds we are. We’re looking up “money laundering” in a dictionary.

11. (Well, if we’re meant to meet again, we’ll meet again. it’s just not the right time now.)
Maybe we’re supposed to meet on British time and we’re five hours too early.

12. Zut alors! I have missed one.

13. Don’t call me a mindless philosopher, you overweight glob of grease.

14. Sir, you can’t let him in here. He’ll see everything. He’ll see the big board!

15. (How was school?) The worst day of my life, what do you think?

16. You know everyone in this family has gone total outer limits.

17. I stick my neck out for nobody!

18. You could always tell what kind of a person a man thinks you are by the earrings he gives you. I must say, the mind reels.

19. American girls would seriously dig me with my cute British accent.

20. (“Baby talk”? That’s not a saying.) Oh, but “baby fish mouth” is sweeping the nation? I hear them talking.

I think I know several of these, but I am confident that #20 is from When Harry Met Sally!

#8 is Labyrinth, #9 is Mean Girls, #12 is The Little Mermaid, I believe #19 is from Love Actually, aaaand I also knew #2, #3, #6 and #18, but I was beaten to the draw.

I am ashamed that I did not remember #16, and some of the others seem familiar and I’m sure I’ll kick myself when I go check the answers in your next entry : )
